Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC) faces a significant setback as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has suspended head coach Owen Coyle for one Indian Super League (ISL) match. The disciplinary action follows a recurring issue with “aggressive behavior” from the team’s bench.
Coyle received his latest caution during the high-stakes encounter against Mumbai City FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on April 9. This followed a previous yellow card issued on March 19 during the match against Sporting Delhi in New Delhi. Under AIFF regulations, the accumulation of these warnings has triggered an automatic one-match ban.
Coaching Transition for Kochi Clash
The suspension comes at a critical juncture for JFC. Owen Coyle will be absent from the touchline during the vital away match against Kerala Blasters FC in Kochi on April 18.
In his absence, Assistant Coach Stuart Sandy will step up as the acting head coach to lead the Men of Steel. The team will rely on Sandy’s tactical guidance as they navigate this crucial fixture without their primary strategist.
