Jamshedpur, April 12: Jamshedpur FC U14 are set to compete in the Final Round of the AIFF Sub-Junior League, scheduled to be held in Mahabalipuram near Chennai from May 2 onwards, marking a significant milestone in the club’s grassroots development programme.
The Boys of Steel secured direct qualification to the final round after emerging as Group G champions in the zonal stage. The team delivered a flawless campaign, winning all 10 matches they played, showcasing dominance with consistent performances across both attack and defence.
A standout feature of the squad is its strong local representation, with 19 of the 20 players hailing from Jharkhand. Coached by Rahul Raj, the team reflects the club’s commitment to nurturing regional talent through a structured development pathway.
This season also marks a historic step for Jamshedpur FC, with the U14 side being formed as a fully residential team for the first time. The squad was assembled through an extensive scouting process, with coaches conducting selection trials across multiple districts in Jharkhand, followed by a rigorous multi-stage evaluation to identify the best young talents.
Placed in Group B of the final round, Jamshedpur FC will begin their campaign on May 2 against the winners of Playoff Group A. They will then face Football Club Mangalore on May 4, before taking on Football 4 Change Academy in their final group fixture on May 6. All matches are scheduled to kick off at 4:30 PM.
