Yoga: Naisha of Sacred Heart Convent School Jamshedpur bags gold in National School Games

Jamshedpur: Naisha Sarkar from Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur, clinched the top spot and a Gold Medal in the Rhythmic Yoga championship for under-17 boys’ and girls’ events at the recently concluded CISCE 67th National School Games. The event took place at the Indoor Stadium of the Netaji Subhas Regional Sports Training Centre (NSRSC) in Agartala from November 23 to 27.

Naisha’s outstanding performance has earned her a coveted spot in the upcoming Khelo India Youth Games, marking a significant milestone in her budding sports career. The rhythmic yoga category for girls also saw Tamil Nadu’s Oviya C and Delhi’s Seema Neupane securing the Silver and Bronze Medals, respectively.

Prior to this national triumph, Naisha Sarkar showcased her prowess by clinching the first position in both the Athletic Yoga Girls (U-17) and Rhythmic Yoga Girls (U-17) categories at the CISCE Zonal Yoga Championship, which took place at Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) on August 4-5, 2023.

The CISCE 67th National School Games witnessed the participation of 342 competitors from 26 states and union territories, making it a highly competitive event. Tripura emerged as the overall champion in both the under-17 boys’ and girls’ yoga events.
