Jamshedpur: Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Telco, and Carmel Junior College, Sonari, emerged as champions in the girls’ and boys’ categories respectively in the ongoing inter-school table tennis tournament in the city. After the inauguration, exciting league and knockout matches were held, drawing strong participation from leading schools.

In the girls’ category, Jusco School, Kadma, entered the final after defeating DAV Bistupur 3-0 in the first semifinal. The second semifinal saw a close contest where Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya edged past Kerala Public School, Kadma-A, with a narrow 3-2 win. In the final, Chinmaya Vidyalaya delivered a confident performance to beat Jusco School, Kadma, 3-1 and lift the title. Jusco School finished as runners-up.

In the boys’ category, Jamshedpur Public School (JPS), Baridih, defeated Jusco School, Kadma, 3-0 in the first semifinal. Carmel Junior College-A, Sonari, secured their place in the final by overcoming Church School, Beldih, 3-1 in the second semifinal. In the final match, Carmel Junior College continued their strong form and defeated JPS 3-1 to claim the championship, while JPS settled for the runners-up position.
With the team events concluded, the focus now shifts to the individual singles competitions for both boys and girls. Organisers expect intense and competitive matches as students battle for individual honours.
