Jamshedpur: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2026 was conducted across East Singhbhum district on Sunday. The District Public Relations Office stated that the medical entrance examination concluded without any incidents of malpractice, under the strict supervision of the district administration.

A total of 4,112 candidates appeared for the exam out of 4,231 registered students, while 119 candidates were absent.

NEET (UG) is held on a massive scale across the country, with approximately 22.79 lakh registered candidates. The examination took place in pen-and-paper mode across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad, spanning more than 5,432 centres — making it one of the largest entrance examinations globally.

Strong Administrative Measures and Security

The examination was held under the directives of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan. The administration ensured a “zero-tolerance” approach to malpractice through several key measures:

  • Oversight: Adequate deployment of magistrates, police personnel, and static magistrates was ensured at all centers to maintain law and order.

  • Monitoring: Authorities implemented stringent security arrangements, including mandatory frisking of candidates, videography of the process, and strict adherence to all guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

  • Centers: Eight examination centers were established across six prominent educational institutions in the district to accommodate the candidates.

Logistical Support and Traffic Management

To facilitate a smooth experience for the students, special traffic management arrangements were put in place at key intersections across Jamshedpur. This ensured that candidates could reach their respective centers on time without facing inconvenience due to congestion.

The district administration emphasized its commitment to transparency and efficiency, confirming that all protocols were followed diligently to ensure a fair and impartial examination process.
