Gamharia, May 15: XITE College recently held a one-day workshop entitled “Capacity Building and Personality Development” for final year undergraduate and postgraduate female students. The aim of the workshop was to develop and enhance the skills, instincts, capabilities, processes, and resources that organizations and communities need to thrive in an ever-changing world. The National Commission for Women, Government of India, sponsored the workshop, which was attended by Commission’s Chairperson Rekha Sharma, College Principal Dr. Father Francis EA SJ, Vice Principal Mukti Clarence SJ, and other guests. The program began with a lamp lighting ceremony.
During the workshop, the importance of self-confidence, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and logical reasoning in professional life was emphasized. The program was divided into three sessions. In the first session, Dr. Manisha Titus, HOD at Jamshedpur Women’s University, provided insight into the art of coping with job interviews. In the second session, Prof. Shalu Kant from the Department of English at XITE College discussed the usefulness of language.
The third session was moderated by Prof. Riya Basu from the Department of English, who spoke about digital literacy and effective use of social media. She also focused on professional digital tools, cybercrime, and security measures. The Vice Principal, Dr. Father Mukti Clarence, collected feedback through a question-and-answer session at the end of the workshop. The vote of thanks was given by Prof. Akinchan Khaksa, and the program concluded with the National Anthem. Around 270 female students from various colleges in Jamshedpur participated in this workshop.
