Symbolic protest to increase Pension amount in Gamharia

 Gamharia, May 15: The Adityapur-Gamharia Vikas Samity, led by former Vice President of Adityapur Nagar Parishad, Purendra Narayan Singh, is planning a symbolic protest program in front of the Gamharia block headquarters on May 23. Their aim is to increase the pension amount from one thousand to two thousand rupees per month. Originally scheduled for May 16, the program was rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.

During a press conference in Gamharia, Purendra Narayan Singh, the chairman of the committee, shared the above information. Adityapur Vikas had previously demanded an increase in the pension amount under the National Social Assistance Program. The committee had submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister of the state to the circle officer of Gamharia. According to Singh, about 7,931 people in the Adityapur Municipal Corporation area, 1,19,401 people in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, and a total of 32,10,593 people in 24 districts of Jharkhand state are currently benefiting from the pension scheme. Additionally, the committee has requested that the government provide Rs. 4 lakh to the dependents of those who die in road accidents, rather than the current amount of Rs. 1 lakh. The press conference was attended by committee members RK Anil, Shambhu Prasad, Pramod Gupta, and Rajesh Yadav, among others.
