Jamshedpur: A one-day capacity-building workshop was organized today under the “Empowered Women Panchayat – Leader Campaign” at the District Panchayati Raj Resource Centre, Karandih, Jamshedpur. The workshop aimed at strengthening grassroots democracy by empowering women leaders in panchayats.
Organized under the revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), the workshop witnessed participation from selected women Mukhiya (village heads) and ward members across various blocks of East Singhbhum district.
District Council Chairperson Bari Murmu, Vice Chairperson Pankaj, District Panchayati Raj Officer Rinku Kumari, and Executive Officer of the District Council Dr Rajnikant Mishra graced the occasion.
The training focused on enhancing the leadership skills of women representatives, improving their understanding of panchayat governance, schemes, and their active participation in local development planning and decision-making.
A total of 84 women representatives participated, including 71 women Mukhiya and 13 women ward members from blocks like Baharagora, Dumaria, Musabani, Dhalbhumgarh, Gurabanda, Chakulia, Potka, Patamda, Bodam, Jamshedpur, and Ghatshila.
Through this workshop, the participants were trained in areas such as effective panchayat management, local development schemes, and leadership development, aiming to build a more inclusive and empowered grassroots governance structure.
