Chaibasa, Feb. 8: Kolhan Dhani Kshetra Mazdoor Union staged a dharna before DC office on Wednesday. The union also submitted a memorandum addressed to the governor through the deputy commissioner of Chaibasa to demand payment of Rs 600 as daily wages to the labourers .
They also demanded implementation of manual mining in place of mining through machines as it would render thousands of people jobless.
A large number of workers led by John Miran Munda participated in the demonstration.
