Chaibasa, May 8: Kolhan University (KU) bid farewell to the outgoing vice chancellor DR RPP Singh and welcomed the newly appointed VC Dr. Shukla Mohanty during a function organised at the university’s senate hall on Monday.
In her speech, the new KU VC Dr Shukla Mohanty said condition of Kolhan University was in doldrums during its early days as it was being run by the commissioner and it had no vice chancellor.
The appointment of Dr. RPP Singh as the vice chancellor of the university then was important for the development. Dr. Singh with his hard work and dedication transformed the university and has taken it to new heights of development, added Dr. Mohanty.
‘I express my deep gratitude towards Dr RPP Singh for his dynamic leadership and seek his blessings to complete the unfulfilled task’, noted the new VC.
New vice chancellor also appealed the assembly to extend whole hearted cooperation to take KU to new heights of development and also asked everyone to take pledge to help make KU one of the top universities of the country.
Outgoing VC Dr RPP Singh said that work is a part of cosmic drama and we have to do our part as assigned to us with utmost sincerity.
‘Whatever I could achieve is with the cooperation and hard work of all the faculty members and the committee’, said Dr. Singh, adding, ‘new vice chancellor is known to everyone as she has been the Pro Vice-Chancellor and is well aware as to where the university stands’.
Dr. Singh also appealed the university staff to extend all cooperation to new VC and sought apology from the junior faculty members if any one was hurt due to his word and behavior during his term .
Outgoing VC Dr Singh was given a memento and shawl by the new VC Dr Shukla Mohanty during the ceremony.
