Jamshedpur: Monday turned out to be a day to remember for the city with as many as 1060 people donating blood at Red Cross Bhavan, Sakchi, on the occasion of World Red Cross Day. The grand blood donation camp was organized from 8 am till 5 pm.
Beating the scorching heat with their zeal, the donors continued donating blood back to back till evening. The chief guest of the occasion was Adarsh Agrawal, Managing Director of JAMIPOL.
Addressing the gathering of donors and volunteers, Agrawal said the camp had turned out to be a fair of blood donators. He praised the efforts of the organizers and the volunteers in organizing the blood donation camp in the peak summer season despite all odds.
Also present on the occasion was the SDO of Dhalbhum Manoj Kumar Ranjan. He said it was a matter of pride that so many blood donors had gathered at the camp for a noble cause.
The secretary of the Blood Bank Nalini Rammurty said the Red Cross made optimum use of its resources to organize the blood camp. She thanked the donors and volunteers for organizing the camp successfully.
