Woman gets six months� jail term in cheque bounce case

Jamshedpur, June 29: The Court of First Class Judicial Magistrate Vandana Kiro sentenced accused Rita Dey wife of Manoj Dey and resident of Bagunnagar under Bagbera PS to six month jail term in a case of cheque bounce filed by complainant Kasidih resident Manisha Pal. The court also directed Rita Dey to pay the complainant Rs 3, 90,000.

The case pertains to the year 2017 when Kasidih Resident Manisha Pal had lent Rs 2, 50,000 to Rita Dey on terms of friendship for the latter�s house construction and treatment of her husband. In return, Rita Dey had issued a cheque of the same amount drawn on the Sidgora Branch of Gramin Bank. When presented for payment, the cheque bounced. Manisha Pal�s lawyer Gopal Sharma successfully pleaded the case on behalf of the complainant.
