Jamshedpur/Ranchi, July 19: Two corona positive patients succumbed to the virus in Jharkhand on Sunday, July 19 taking the death toll to 49 in the state. The deceased are from Dhanbad and Ranchi.
The corona positive cases have reached 5581 in Jharkhand with 182 new cases reported on Sunday.
The average death rate in the month of July is two deaths per day. The death toll in Jharkhand has climbed to 49.

The average corona positive tally in the state in the month of July is 125. On Saturday, 182 positives were reported in Jharkhand till 10pm. Earlier, 320 cases were reported on July 15 while 268 cases were reported in a single day on July 13.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has reached 877.
With 54 new cases reported on Sunday, July 19, the total cases in East Singhbhum district stands at 877. July 7 saw maximum cases being reported in single day in Jamshedpur with 58 positives. Earlier 43 cases came up on May 30 while July 2 recorded 45 cases in a single day.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 54 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Sunday. Of the new positives only four have travel history.
All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 3, Deoghar 4, Dhanbad 10, Dumka 2, East Singhbhum 54, Garhwa 3, Giridih 4, Godda 1, Gumla 6, Hazaribagh 26, Khunti 1, Koderma 5, Lohardaga 25, Ramgarh 1, Ranchi 32 and Sahebganj 5 taking the state corona tally to 5581.
Recently, more than 200 cases are being reported in the state every day. In the month of July the corona mark crossed 300 twice in the month of July. 289 cases came up on July 18. On Sunday, July 18 positive cases came up from almost every district of Jharkhand.
Of both the patient who died at RIMS in Ranchi, the 68-year-old Dhanbad man was suffering pneumonia. The elderly from Sukhdev Nagar in Ranchi was a heart patient and died of cardiac arrest on Sunday morning.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 2785 and fatalities at 49 while 2718 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2245 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 877 cases out of a total of 5581. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
