Jamshedpur, June 29: The Jamshedpur branch of Marwari Mahila Manch’s (MMM) three-day Rakhi Mela (Exhibition cum Sale) began on June 29 at the Shri Agrasen Bhawan in Sakchi.
The Rakhi Mela was inaugurated by Sudha Gupta, wife of Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta. The guests who came to the fair were honored with mementoes.
President Bina Agrawal along with Secretary Seema Agarwal welcomed the guests. Praising the work of the forum, Chief Guest Sudha Gupta assured all possible cooperation for the upliftment of women.
The timing for the Mela visitors will be from 10 am to 9 pm.
Bina Agrawal and Seema Agarwal informed that 25 stalls have been put in the fair.
Women from Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Kanpur, Ranchi, Mumbai, Ghatshila, Banaras etc. have come to Steel City with Rakhis. Ladies from different part of city crowded the venue on the very first day. The main attraction of the fair is henna which is being applied to all the visitors free of cost.
It may be mentioned that the Rakhi Mela was being organized by MMM since the last 25 years with an objective towards women’s empowerment. Stalls will be setup by ladies of Jamshedpur and other cities.
Lalita Saraiwala extended the vote of thanks. Provincial President Manju Khandelwal, former national president Jaya Dokania, Lata Agarwal, former Provincial President Bina Khirwal, Provincial Secretary Prabha Padia, Provincial Treasurer Sushila Khirwal, Saraswati Agarwal, Shilpi Agarwal, Kanchan Khirwal, Pinky Agarwal, Anita Agarwal, Kiran Garhwal, Santosh Naredi, Sarita Khirwal, Urmila Sanghi, Santosh Naredi, Meera Agarwal, Pushpa Agarwal and others were present.
