Jamshedpur, October 04: On the second day of the Wildlife Conservation Awareness Week 2016 at the Tata Steel Zoological Park, the Debate Competitions in Hindi and in English were organized during which Anuradha of KPS Kadma emerged Winner in the Hindi Category while Swayam Pradipto Banerjee from Loyola School was the winner in the English Category.
The event was sponsored by Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur, ZEST and the prizes were presented by Chief Guest Katy Gabba –Astt. District Governor Rotary Club of Jamshedpur, Nita Agarwal, President, Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur ZEST and Bipul Chakrabarty- Director, Tata Steel Zoological Park.
The topics of the debate in which the students had to speak either for or against in Hindi and English were “Should the Wildlife trade be banned?”
A total of 69 students participated from 22 different schools in the competition and the judges for the competition were Parnika Agarwal and Indu Gandhi.
In Hindi- Anuradha of KPS Kadma was first followed by Minakshi of Rajendra Vidyalaya, Sakchi and Shikha Jha of SDSM Sidhgora was third. Kamini Kumari of NTTF won the consolation prize. In English-Sayan Banerjee of Loyola School won the first prize, Ankita of MNPS was second, Divya of Carmel Junior College was third. Saurabh Kumar Singh of KPS Gamharia won the consolation prize.
The remaining programmes now scheduled during Wildlife Week celebrations 2016 are Art in nature, Fancy Dress Competition in the Zoo Picnic Area on October 5th & 6th respectively and On the Spot Painting Competition & Closing Ceremony also in the Zoo Picnic Area on 7th October.
Programme was coordinated by Seema Rani, Biologist cum, Education Officer, TSZP and her team members Iram, Kiran, Priya, Vidhan, Vinay.
