Weeklong fair on Ganesh Chaturthi in Telco

Jamshedpur: A bhumi pujan ceremony was organized at Bogiyan Christie Maidan, Road Number 3, in Telco on Friday to pave way for the preparations of Ganesh Chaturthi celebration.

A grand puja pandal is going to be built here this year. A 15 feet high idol of Lord Ganesha will be the centre of attraction this year. According to Vikas Sharma, president of the Ganesh Puja Committee, a team of artisans from Kolkata will construct the pandal at an expense of Rs 1.50 lakh.

He said the puja is being organized since the year 2011. A weeklong fair will be held around the pandal from 12th September till 18th September. Several cultural and competitive events are also lined up for this year, said Sharma.

The puja committee members include Manoj Singh, Mahendra Prasad, Adhiraj Tiwary, Ajit Jaisawal, Sandeep Sharma, Ashutosh Tripathy, Rahul Sunani and Sonu Srivastava.
