Jamshedpur, May 11: The concept of inquiry-based learning (IBL) is gaining importance in today’s hyper-competitive, fast-changing, and complex environment. The National Education Policy 2020 also recognizes the significance of IBL, which encourages learners to explore and respond to diversity in the classrooms. To incorporate the IBL approach, Tarapore School collaborated with TEEP to organize a three-day summer workshop named “WebQuest” for students of Std. IX. In the workshop, students of Std. IX focused on research work related to the Indian Constitution, with the topic “Understanding and Appreciating the Indian Constitution.” They were given a real-life situation of being an NGO worker and asked to research Articles from the Indian Constitution related to child labor and human trafficking. The students were quite interested and engaged, and their projects will be evaluated, with the top three artifacts to be published on the school website. All participating students were recognized and awarded participation certificates. The school hopes to expand this pilot project and involve more students in such informative and engaging projects. The school administration extended thanks to Ankur Gandotra from TEEP and Varya Singh, an intern at TEEP from TISS, for leading the project and guiding the students and teachers to understand the nuances of IBL. Payal Grover and Swati Kamboj were also thanked for their constant guidance to the students during the completion of their project.
