Weak monsoon leads to 51 % less rainfall in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, July 9: Monsoon has weakened once again in entire Jharkhand including Kolhan.

Ranchi IMD centre’s meteorologist Abhishek Anand had predicted that there will be good rains in the first week of July, but there has been a break in monsoon in the state.

At the same time, the weakening of monsoon has increased the concern of farmers in the state.

According to the state agriculture department, the average rainfall in the state should be 265 mm till July 10. Only 135.4 mm of rain has been recorded till July 8.

Ranchi, Chatra, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Ramgarh, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Lohardaga and Pakur districts have received the least rainfall.

During this period, the state has received 51 percent less rainfall than the average. On Tuesday, people had to face scorching heat in Jamshedpur.

During this time, the maximum temperature of Jamshedpur was recorded at 36.1 degrees and the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.7 degrees.

Daltonganj recorded the highest temperature of 37.0 degrees. The temperature of Saraikela Kharsawan was recorded at 34.1 degrees and West Singhbhum at 35.9 degrees.

According to the weather department forecast, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning at some places in the state on July 10. On July 11, Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Sahebganj, Pakur, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum and Saraikela Kharsawan will remain cloudy.

There is a possibility of good rain in the state from July 12. Meanwhile, drizzle will continue in many parts of the state. While the normal rainfall figure is 263 mm. A decline of 47 percent has been recorded in rainfall.
