Jamshedpur, Oct 30: For the upcoming water sources cleanliness campaign in the state from 13 to 20 December, a meeting of social activists was held under the chairmanship of Chief, Damodar Bachao Aandolan at Bistupur on Friday.
The meeting focused on preparing blueprint of water sources cleanliness drive in Jamshedpur. The campaign will kick off on December 13 were awareness rally will be held giving message to conserve water sources.
On 14 and 15 December volunteers will recognize the most polluted water sources and will collect water samples from various water sources, examine the level of pollution and ascertain the reasons behind the water pollution.
On 16 and 17 December the findings will subsequently be submitted to the concerned officials as well as the anti-pollution board. On December 20 state wide cleanliness drive of water sources will be organized and Environment Panchayat will be held to prepare blueprint for observing 2016 as water source cleanliness year. At the event Saryu Rai announced that water source cleanliness drive will held from December 13 to 20 and year 2016 will be celebrated as water source cleanliness year.
Minister further said that since 2004 the campaign to make Damodar pollution free is going on and River Subarnrekha, Karo and Koyna will also be made pollution free. He also urged the state government to provide full support in making these rivers clean and dirt free.
The cleanliness drive will be launched on December 13 were rally and other events will be held at every district of the state.
During the concluding function of water supply and sanitation campaign in Ranchi on December 20, wherein Souvenir will be published containing all information regarding pollution at water sources.
At the events activists of Yugantar Bharti, Damodar Bachao Aandolan, Jal Jagrukta Abhiyan, Subarnrekha Pradushan Mukti Abhiyan and Sonanchal Vikas Samiti participated.
