Ranchi, Nov 27: Cricket fever gripped Ranchi on Wednesday as star Indian batsman Virat Kohli and later in the evening Rohit Sharma and South Africa’s seasoned player Quinton de Kock arrived in the city ahead of the first ODI of the three-match series. The match will be played on November 30 at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) International Stadium.

Both players were welcomed warmly by JSCA officials upon arrival at Birsa Munda Airport.
Saurabh Tiwary, his team-mate in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup and at Royal Challengers Bengaluru and currently holding the post of JSCA secretary was there to receive the batting great at Birsa Munda airport.
As soon as the news of their arrival spread, a large crowd of enthusiastic fans gathered outside the airport to catch a glimpse of their favourite cricketers. Police and security personnel were deployed in large numbers to manage the crowd. Following the security protocols, Virat Kohli was escorted straight to the Radisson Blu Hotel.

Preparations for the upcoming match have intensified, with JSCA ensuring all arrangements—from pitch preparation to security—are in place. The presence of big names like Kohli and de Kock has further raised excitement among cricket lovers in Jharkhand.

Spectators are eagerly looking forward to the India–South Africa clash on November 30, which promises to be a thrilling start to the ODI series.
