Andi Mardi and Anushka Pandey win individual championships; Nandini Sonkar named best outgoing athlete
Jamshedpur, Nov 22: Sacred Heart Convent School celebrated its 74th Annual Sports Meet at JRD Tata Stadium with great enthusiasm, showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork and discipline. The event, one of the school’s most prestigious annual occasions, highlighted the athletic talents of students while encouraging perseverance and excellence.
Jamshedpur City SP Kumar Shivashish graced the occasion as Chief Guest. School Principal Sister Steffi A.C. welcomed him with a floral greeting, followed by the unfurling of the school flag. The Chief Guest then declared the Sports Meet open, setting the stage for the grand March Past. The four school squads—Crimson, Green, Gold and Violet—marched with precision, led by School President Kanishka Chopra.
One of the major attractions of the event was an impressive Karate Display, followed by colourful Drill Display featuring students across various grades. Kindergarten students presented “Flowers and Blossoms,” Classes I and II performed “Little Rockstars,” Classes III to V showcased “Whispers from the Frozen World,” while Literacy Project School students presented “Fit n Fun Moves.” Students of Classes VI to VIII energised the field with “Rings of Fire.”
Track and field events were held among the four squads, with spirited participation from students. The concluding march past marked the closing ceremony, emphasizing unity and shared pride.
The Chief Guest then distributed medals and certificates to the winners, encouraging students to always give their best, adding, “True victory lies in participation and giving your absolute all.”
School Pupil Leader Pragya Singh proposed the Vote of Thanks. The ceremony concluded with the extinguishing of the torch, lowering of the school flag, the School Song, the National Anthem, and Beating of the Retreat.
