Ranchi, March 29: The results of the Senior National Arbiter Seminar and Examination, held at Sarala Birla University on February 21 and 22, were declared on March 27, bringing good news for Jharkhand’s chess community.
Sachin Anand and Deepak Kumar Jha from the state successfully cleared the prestigious examination. Sachin Anand secured the top position with an impressive Grade ‘A’, while Deepak Kumar Jha, a resident of Adityapur, also passed the exam.
With this achievement, both will be awarded the title of “Senior National Arbiter (SNA)” by the Chess Federation of India.
Sachin Anand, a Ranchi resident and final-year law student, has been actively involved in chess as a player, coach, and organiser. He is a former District Chess Championship winner and has contributed to organising national-level tournaments, including Under-19 and Under-09 championships.
Deepak Kumar Jha has also been active in the chess circuit, delivering notable performances in the Seraikela District Chess Championship and various inter-school events.
District Chess Association Secretary Ajay Kumar, along with International Arbiter Vishal Minj and FIDE Arbiter Vikram Kumar, congratulated both achievers and wished them success in the future.
