Reunited Incab Workers Vow to Rebuild Factory Legacy With Vedanta

Jamshedpur: Following Vedanta’s acquisition of the Incab Cable Company, the Cable Mazdoor Sangh held a crucial general meeting on Sunday at the Cable Gate premises. A large number of employees attended the meeting to hold discussions regarding the company’s future, workers’ welfare, and strategic coordination with the Vedanta management.

Addressing the gathering, Sagar Tiwari, the founder of the Cable Mazdoor Sangh, stated that the resumption of the company’s operations after a long 26-year wait feels like nothing short of a festival for the workers and their families.

Thousands of families faced extreme hardships during the decades the company remained shut, but Vedanta’s takeover has ignited a fresh ray of hope. Tiwari expressed deep gratitude to Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal and the entire management, noting that their efforts are breathing new life into the long-defunct cable manufacturer.

Tiwari announced that the Cable Mazdoor Sangh will soon meet with Vedanta officials to present the workers’ demands, suggestions, and grievances. “Our objective is not merely to put forward demands, but to work hand-in-hand with Vedanta to restore the lost identity of this cable company and secure a safe future for all employees,” Tiwari said.

Ravindra Mishra, who moderated the meeting, asserted that cable workers will no longer fall prey to political games. “From now on, all employees stand united solely for their rights, dignity, and the company’s progress. We will firmly place our terms before the Vedanta management. Our goal is cooperation, not confrontation,” Mishra stated. Echoing these sentiments, senior union member Pradeep Jha said that cable workers were politically exploited in the past, and the union will prevent history from repeating itself.
