Vande Mataram Connects Every Indian to the Motherland: Shekhar Day

Jamshedpur, July 9: “The national song of India, ‘Vande Mataram,’ was composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and was first rendered in Kolkata (then Calcutta) on August 7, 1904. On the occasion of my parents’ birth anniversary celebration, this song is sung,” stated social worker and Sreeleather’s Shekhar Day. He said that the song, ‘Vande Mataram’ had significantly contributed to the Indian independence movement. “It instilled the passion among Indians to attain freedom. ‘Vande Mataram’ inspired and united all Indians to fight against British rule. ‘Vande Mataram’ sings the honour and praise to Mother India that continues to fill the heart of every Indian with pride. The song expresses love and devotion for the motherland, which still inspires us to do something for our country during challenging times. The Jharkhand Bengali Association observes Vande Mataram Day every year with great respect, reminding everyone of their duty towards the nation.
