Jamshedpur, July 17: Vande Bharat train coaches will be manufactured in Chakulia block of East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
This will be the first such factory in the East Zone, which will manufacture rail coaches under the country’s prestigious Vande Bharat scheme. The establishment of this factory will not only accelerate industrial development but will also create employment opportunities for local youth.
The project will cost Rs 4000 crore and will be set up on 300 acres of land. The company’s next target is to expand the factory by acquiring 400 acres of additional land. This manufacturing unit will be operated by MS Voltas Rail Pvt Ltd.
According to the company, the establishment of this manufacturing unit will provide direct employment to more than 4000 people locally. This will not only reduce the unemployment rate but will also boost the economic development of the region.
Baharagora MLA Samir Kumar Mohanty held a meeting with the officials of MS Voltas Rail Pvt Ltd regarding the progress of this project. The company’s project director and consultant Vishnu Garg was present in the meeting. The MLA said that this is the result of the industrial policy and vision of the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
He also informed that the process of MoU will be completed between the company and the state government next month. As soon as the project gets off the ground, it will be a historic achievement for East Singhbhum and Baharagora assembly constituency.
The successful implementation of this project is a step towards establishing Chakulia as a new industrial hub. This will not only promote self-reliance in the railway sector, but will also enable Jharkhand to be included among the leading states in the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
