Rain and thunderstorms lash Jharkhand, weather alert issued

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Feb 24: A weather system formed over the Bay of Bengal has led to a sudden change in weather across Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region. Late Monday evening, several districts witnessed rain accompanied by strong winds, and unsettled conditions continued on Tuesday.

Jamshedpur, Seraikela, Chaibasa and Ranchi experienced showers and gusty winds, bringing down temperatures across many areas. Dark clouds hovered over Jamshedpur as intermittent rainfall altered the otherwise stable weather conditions.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms in various parts of Jharkhand over the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Centre in Ranchi has forecast gusty winds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour, along with possible lightning strikes.

Authorities have advised residents to remain vigilant during adverse weather, avoid open spaces during lightning and take necessary precautions. With continuous fluctuations in atmospheric conditions, a noticeable drop in temperatures is expected in most districts of the state.
