Unity essential to save tribal existence: Champai Soren

Gamharia: A felicitation ceremony cum industrial discussion was organized at Balidih football ground in Kandra on Wednesday under the aegis of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Gram Pradhans and other traditional heads of tribal community were honoured on this occasion. The chief guest of the occasion was MLA Champai Soren.

In his address, Soren said the existence of Adivasis and Moolvasis of Jharkhand was in danger. He said the language, culture and lands of tribal people of the state were on the verge of being alienated. He said the Gram Pradhans and Manjhi Babas should unite to save the existence of tribal people. He said the role of Manjhi Babas and Gram Pradhans was crucial in Scheduled Areas.

Many other JMM leaders were also present during the programme. They too, stressed on unity of Adivasis and Moolvasis to save their existence.

Among those present on the occasion included Ramdas Tudu, Piyo Hansda, Sukhram Hembram, Amrit Mahato, Deepak Mandal, Akash Das and Ram Hansda.
