Jamshedpur: Central Board for Workers Education (CBWE), regional directorate, today celebrated Labour Education Day cum Foundation Day and Hindi Day in the training hall of the Regional Directorate.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Sudhir Deoras, managing director, TRF Limited. Addressing the gathering, he said labour education was quintessential for a developing country. He said the people related to service sector could gain a lot through labour education. He went on to add that understanding oneís rights and duties was important for everyone.
The education officer Pashupati Nath Sah was also present on the occasion. He said labour education helped increase productivity, skill and work quality.
The programme was presided over by Rakeshwar Pandey, secretary of Intuc. He said it was not possible to think about globalization and privatization without labour education.
Also present on the occasion as a specially invited guest Bikas Mukherjee, managing director, Auto Profile, said many companies were benefitting from the services of CBWE. He praised the dedication of the CBWE staff and the work being done by them.
The deputy labour commissioner of Jharkhand Shyam Sunder Pathak too, addressed the gathering. He said labour education came handy in resolving labour disputes and improving industrial relations.
The general manager (HR) of Tata Motors Sanjay Kumar Verma was present as a special guest during the programme. He praised the CBWE for contributing hugely to workersí education.
The regional director of CBWE Abhay Narayan Tiwary welcomed the guests and trainees.
