Jamshedpur: Amidst uncertainty over the arrival of Narendra Modi in Jamshedpur, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders of the state are now trying to bring in other senior party leaders for campaigning in the city. As per plan, senior party leader and former BJP president Venkaiyah Naidu will be addressing a gathering at Ganesh Puja ground in Kadma on 6th April.
Party leaders in Jamshedpur Mahanagar committee of BJP said the forthcoming campaign programme of Venkaiyah Naidu was expected to gather huge crowd and shore up support for the party candidate Vidyut Varan Mahato in the Lok Sabha polls.
So far the programme of Narendra Modi has not been fixed for Jamshedpur. The district election working committee is trying to invite Narendra Modi and other senior party leaders for election campaign in the city. Programmes will be announced no sooner as they are chalked out, said Vinod Singh, a district BJP leader.
The BJP leaders took a dig at the sitting MP of Jamshedpur and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha candidate for the Parliamentary election from Jamshedpur for allegedly trying to claim credit for the development projects carried out jointly by him and other MLAs of East Singhbhum. They further alleged that the JVM MP had won the last Parliamentary election with the help of Naxalites.
Rubbishing claims of Dr Ajay Kumar about having raised questions for the people of his constituency, the BJP leaders said he had not raised questions in favour of labourers of the city.
Dr Ajay Kumar is claiming credit for installation of solar lights by an independent agency. Four MLAs had given Rs 25 lakh each for the work while the MP had given Rs 1 crore. But now he is trying usurp all credit for the work, said Aftab Ahmad Siddiqui, another BJP leader.
