President Droupadi Murmu’s Jamshedpur Visit: Kolhan Commissioner, DIG review security, carcade rehearsal conducted

Jamshedpur, Feb 25: Ahead of the proposed visit of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, to Jamshedpur on February 26, senior civil and police officials undertook a comprehensive inspection of preparedness and security arrangements across key venues, the airport and designated route corridors.


Kolhan Divisional Commissioner Raviranjan Kumar Vikram and Deputy Inspector General of Police Anuranjan Kispotta reviewed the district administration’s preparations in detail.
Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi and Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey, along with other senior officers, inspected the proposed programme venues at Shri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Charitable Centre and Manipal Tata Medical College.
During the inspection, officials carried out a thorough review of security arrangements from the airport to Kadma and Baridih, including route lining, venue layout, entry and exit points for dignitaries and the general public, parking management, fire safety measures, and emergency medical facilities.


Instructions were issued to all concerned departments to ensure that every arrangement is executed strictly in accordance with prescribed protocol.
Briefing the Divisional Commissioner on administrative and security preparedness, the Deputy Commissioner outlined measures relating to traffic diversion plans, alternative routes, barricading, and deployment of security personnel.
He informed that a full-fledged carcade rehearsal has been conducted in line with established security standards. Joint briefings of deployed forces and magistrates have also been completed to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities.
For the past two days, officials have been conducting timed trial runs to assess VIP movement from the airport to the programme venues, focusing on route security and punctuality.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that all departments are working in close coordination to ensure that the President’s visit is conducted in a secure, seamless and dignified manner, with preparations now fully in place.
