Jamshedpur, April 01: Potka legislator Sanjiv Sardar has appealed to the state Chief Secretary to arrange for the return of Jharkhand residents forced to remain in other states due to the nationwide lockdown imposed as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID � 19. He has also urged the arrangement of shelter and food for these people.

UCIL central personnel department employee Sandip Bhakt has, in a tweet to Chief Minister Hemant Soren has stated that he has been held up in Vellore where he had gone for treatment. He reported that he has been forced to stay in one small room where meals are provided twice a day for a single person. He stated that he just had Rs 1,000 left and had been seeking financial help from friends and acquaintances. Bhakt urged the Chief Minister to arrange for his return.

Similarly, Kokda villagers of Jadugoda, Tapas Bhakt and Pradip Bhakt too have requested for arrangements to return home. Both had gone to Tamilnadu in quest of jobs but due to the prevailing coronavirus threat and the subsequent lockdown, they have been unable to return. They have stated that they are solely dependent on the state government and police for food. They have contacted Potka MLA Sanjiv Sardar and sought his help to return home.
