Two vehicles seized in crackdown on illegal mineral transport

Jamshedpur: Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, the district’s Mining Task Force has intensified its operations to curb illegal mining, transportation, and storage of minerals. In recent raids conducted by the District Mining Office, two vehicles engaged in illegal transportation of stone chips were seized in separate actions.

In the first incident, a vehicle bearing registration number JH05DZ-8624 was intercepted under Azadnagar police station limits while transporting stone chips without valid documents. The vehicle was seized and an FIR was lodged at Azadnagar police station. In a separate operation in the Kadma police station area, another vehicle, registration number JH05AG-2259, was caught for similar offences. This vehicle was also seized, and an FIR was registered at Kadma police station.

During the drive, officials also inspected the coastal stretches of the Swarnarekha river along Marine Drive, issuing directions to maintain strict surveillance in view of possible mineral exploitation in the area. The District Mining Officer stated that, as per the Deputy Commissioner’s instructions, such raids will continue to safeguard mineral resources, check illegal activities, and prevent loss of government revenue.
