Two men including a BJP leader injured in gun shots at Jamshedpur’s Pipla

Jamshedpur: Two men were seriously injured on being shot at Pipla along the NH-33 under MGM police station area on Monday afternoon. Those injured were identified as Chandra Shekhar Gope (35), who is a resident of Pokhari in MGM police station area, and Imtiaz Khan alias Gabbar (45), a resident of Azadnagar in Mango.

Both the victims were found inside a car. Soon after the incident a section of local residents rushed them MGM Medical College Hospital.


Later a team of police led by OC, MGM police station, Arvind Kumar inspected the spot. Later Gope and Gabbar were shifted to Tata Main Hospital.

Gope is a BJP leader in Pipla and also president of Gaud Samaj in Pipla. According to sources, Gope has an eatery along the NH-33 at Pipla near which the incident took place.

A family source said that Gope had come out of his house and went away driving the car.

OC, MGM police station said Gope was on the driving seat and had sustained bullet injury in the left shoulder and abdomen where as Gabbar who was sitting beside Gope had sustained gun-shot injuries in the right ear.

” It is too early to comment but we are trying to take statement from both the gun-shot victims. Gabbar’s condition is more serious and is on oxygen,” said the OC.

He said having fired the shots, the attackers had fled the spot and disappeared. The OC said it could be known who were the attackers and the reason behind the attack.


He said until none of the two injured give a statement to the police they would not be able to know the reason behind this attack.
