Jamshedpur: Fifteen couples took wedding vows during the mass marriage ceremony organized by social organization �Samadhan� at Sonemandap and Town Hall Ground in the Sidhgora Surya Mandir on Sunday. Each couple was presented almirah, suitcase, wrist watch and set of 111 utensils. Each bride received silver jewellery and set of five saris.
During the mass wedding, the couples were provided with all necessary materials to start a new life. In an attempt to spread eco-friendly message from the wedding, the 15 grooms came to the wedding venue in e-rickshaws. 25 relatives each from bride and groom side were invited for the rituals. The wedding concluded according to their customs and traditions. 
The 15 couples who were part of the mass marriage are Kasinath Sardar (Nagadih) weds Gurubari Sardar (Bada Gamharia), Pradeep Karmakar (Harharguttu) weds Ruma Lohar (Seraiklea), Sukhdev Paan (Chaibasa) weds Shakuntala Patra (Chaibasa), Naveen Kumar Munda (Bagunnagar) weds Sarita Pariya (Sitaramdera), Ravi Prasad (Ramnagar) weds Sonia Munda (Ramnagar, Kadma), Sonu Singh Yadav (Sitaramdera) weds Shilpa Kujur (Sitaramdera), Vivek Bhuiyan (Sitaramdera) weds Kunti Kumari (Sitaramdera), Ranjeet Sardar (Potka) weds Renuka Sardar (Ghagidih), Ghanshyam Kesari (Donkasai) weds Tapaswini Patra (Donkasai), Sogar Pariya (Barkundia) weds Kariban Singh (Harina), Ram Pariya (Kursi) weds Rakhi Devgan (Karkundiya), Ravi Pan (Dalki) weds Reena Das (Bada Lagiya), Nimai Sabar (Khariakocha) weds Manjri (Khariakocha), Madan Kumar Das (Bada Lagiya) weds Geeta Pan (Jhikpani), and Nedya Chatomba (Haat Gamharia) weds Suru Purti (Noamundi).
Samadhan President Poonam Vig performed the ‘kanyadaan’ of Kadma Ramnagar resident Sonia Munda in absence of her mother.
Present on the occasion were Jamshedpur MP Bidhut Baran Mahato, Potka MLA Menka Sardar, Inder Agarwal, Govind Dodrajka, Chintu Bhalotia, Yogesh Malhotra, Dinesh Kumar, Poonam Vig, Gurudev Singh Raja, Dinesh Vig and others.
To make the event successful, Samadhan members including Dinesh Kumar, Poonam Vig, Harjeet Bhatia, Kuljeet Sadana, Beena Khirwal, Poonam Sahu, Ankit Anand, Amarjeet Singh Raja, Geeta Vagadia, Amita Mahendra, Sunita Sachdev, Dr. Nilam, Madhu Prasad, Sarabjeet Singh, Ashish Gulati, Rakesh Barik, Kamlesh Vibhar and others played a vital role.
This is the fourth consecutive year where couples were married off in a mass marriage ceremony. The idea is to spread awareness in the society.
From 2015 Samadhan has been organising mass marriage for those couples who cannot afford the expenses of a marriage. This year too the organisation chose 15 eligible couples.
