Gamharia, Jan 5: A tragic road accident occurred on Monday evening on the Ujjwalpur–Samarm road, beyond the Ganjia barrage under the Gamharia police station area, when a tractor overturned, killing two youths on the spot and leaving two others critically injured.
The deceased have been identified as Ritesh Besra and Raja Besra, both residents of Mahtandih village in Gamharia.
The injured youths, Rameshwar Hembrom and Shankar Hansda, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition is reported to be critical.
According to eyewitnesses, the tractor was moving at a high speed when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to skid and plunge into a ditch.
The tractor is reportedly owned by Dwarka Prasad Mahto, a resident of Mahtandih village.
Soon after the accident, a large number of local villagers gathered at the spot and helped shift the injured to the hospital for immediate treatment.
On receiving information, Gamharia police reached the spot, took custody of the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examination.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
