Three armed criminals nabbed in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Jan 5: Acting on a tip-off, Mango police foiled a major criminal plot late on Sunday night by arresting three armed men who were allegedly preparing to carry out a retaliatory attack.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession during the operation.

According to the police, around 10 pm they received specific information that a group of criminals had gathered near Sarovar Hill Hotel along NH-33 and were planning a serious crime.

Following the alert, a special team from Mango police station was immediately formed and a raid was conducted at the identified location.

During the raid, the police arrested Danish Hussain, Rashid Ansari and Ghulam Khan from the spot.

A search led to the recovery of one pistol, one country-made firearm, one live cartridge and a sharp-edged weapon.

All the seized arms and ammunition have been taken into police custody.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were planning the crime to avenge a clash that had taken place three to four days ago in the Kapali OP area with some youths.

Police said the trio had gathered with weapons with the intention of carrying out a violent act in retaliation.

Police further stated that Ghulam Khan has a previous criminal record and has been involved in multiple offences in the past.

The criminal antecedents of the other two accused are also being verified.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and all three have been sent to judicial custody.

According to police, timely action helped avert a possible violent incident and assured strict action against those involved in criminal activities.
