Ranchi, March 24: Churning is going on in Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) regarding seats and candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.
The party is said to be getting Rajmahal, Dumka, Giridih and Singhbhum Lok Sabha seats under the alliance. Only Vijay Hansda, the current MP from Rajmahal, is likely to get the ticket again.
The decision on Dumka Lok Sabha seat has been left for Hemant Soren. The party can place its bets on Tundi MLA Mathura Mahato from Giridih Lok Sabha seat. However, no seat has been officially announced.
After Congress MP Geeta Koda joined BJP, JMM has staked claim on Singhbhum seat. The reason behind this is that out of the six assembly constituencies of this seat, five have JMM MLAs and one has Congress MLAs.
It has now been agreed in the alliance that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidates will put candidate for Singhbhum Lok Sabha seat.
Majhgaon MLA Niral Purti and Manoharpur MLA Joba Manjhi said that if the party asks, they will contest the elections but if there is any other option, then it should be considered. Whereas Chakradharpur MLA Sukhram Oraon has informed the party that he wants to contest the elections. Dashrath Gagrai also wants to contest Lok Sabha elections.
There is still doubt regarding the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat. Chief Minister Champai Soren will decide who will contest on this seat. He himself was a candidate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. This time someone else will be made to contest because he is the Chief Minister.
