Seraikela: Police today arrested a truck driver accused of knocking down the local divisional forest officer (DFO).
The accused was identified as Ravindra Sngh, a resident of Garhatoli, Ranchi. Superintendent of police Madan Mohan Lal said the truck driver had deliberately injured the DFO of Seraikela Dr B Bhaskaran on 20th June last at night.
The DFO had tried to stop the truck of the accused allegedly carrying timber illegally.
The driver instead of stopping the vehicle drove on and reportedly tried to run over the DFO. The DFO was injured in the incident.
An FIR was lodged against the accused in this connection.
