Tribute to the Founder with glittering ‘technovation’

Bachendri Pal to be felicitated, additional CCTV cameras installed  

Jamshedpur: Steel city is all decked up for the Founder�s Day celebration scheduled on March 3, making the 180th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. The chairman of Tata Sons N Chandrasekaran will attend the Founder�s Day pageantry as the chief guest in presence of Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata.

Tata Steel has selected the theme for this year�s pageantry as �Technovation� which would be held as usual inside the Tata Steel works with tableaus by Tata Steel and its subsidiaries and sister concerns based on the theme of digital initiatives.

Addressing a press meet at Centre for Excellence, Chanakya Chaudhary , vice president, corporate services, Tata Steel, said that like every year this year too Founder�s Day will be special. He said that the city is also celebrating 100 years of naming of Jamshedpur, the theme of the Jubilee Park and an exhibition near Children�s Corner is based on century of the city.    

The entire Jubilee Park, including the Jayanti Sarovar and Upvan, has been illuminated. It will be inaugurated on March 2 and it will be open for public viewing till March 5. The global thoughts and ideals of the founder, which have strengthened the company�s foundations, would be on displayed.

The vice president went on to inform that Founder�s Day pageantry organised on March 3 near Postal Park in Bistupur will be flagged off by chairman of Tata Sons N Chandrasekaran and chairman emeritus Ratan Tata. On the occasion, Bachendri Pal, who in 1984 became the first Indian woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest and was recently awarded the third highest civilian award Padma Bhusan by Government of India will be felicitated.

�We have made special security arrangements this time. We will ensure frisking of visitors at Jubilee Park and moreover a total of 22 CCTV cameras have been installed at the park. From last year we have increased the number of cameras to ensure strict vigil. We have also made watch towers to monitor the visitors,� said Capt. Dhananjay Mishra, senior general manager ( town services), Jusco. 

Besides, the annual tributes paying celebration inside the premises of Tata Steel works and illumination of the Jubilee Park, which is primarily the company�s affair, several of the city based social organisations have planned to hold programmes on 3rd March to pay their heartily tributes to the iconic personality of the Indian history. These orgnisations will take out colourful pageantry near Food Plaza on March 3 to pay tributes to the visionary.
