Jamshedpur: The academic activities in four schools of Potka have been marred due to the transfer posting of teachers by the Zila Shiksha Sthapna Samiti. Sources said the way the teachers were transferred from their current schools to other schools, violation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act provisions could not be ruled out. As per the RTE, at least two teachers should be compulsorily deputed in a school. No school can be left at the mercy of a single teacher, sources said.
Sources said there were two teachers in Narayanpur Upgraded High School, Potka. One of the teachres, Panchanan Mahato was transferred to Patamada. Similarly, one of the two teachers of Layalam Middle School, Dr Hari Kishor Singh, was transferred to a school at Dimna. In Middle School, Pako, there were two teachers.
One of the teachers, Rajkumar Singh was transferred to Hurlung School in Jamshedpur. In Dudhkundi Middle School, there were three teachers. One of the teachers, Shailendra Tiwary was transferred to Nildih East Middle School, Jamshedpur. As a result of the transfers, the villagers of Potka are agitated.
