Topaz House awarded championship trophy at JPS sports meet

Jamshedpur, Dec. 15: It was a day of celebration for the students and staff of Jamshedpur Public School (JPS) as they celebrated their 25th Sports meet at JRD Sports Complex on Thursday, December 15. Championship Trophy was awarded to Topaz House while Emerald House won the runner-up trophy.

Best Athlete ( Boys) was Rohit Ranjan and Best Athlete ( Girls) was Astha Jyoti, Debolina Bhanja and Vidhi Rawal. Best March Past award was given to Sapphire House.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Bailey Bodhanwala, President AJUPEI an social worker, who encouraged the students to constantly strive for excellence in sports and declared the meet open.

The other dignitaries present were Srimant Sen, chairperson, Vandan Mathur, Sreeparna Ghosh, the school Secretary, Namita Agarwal, principal, Lalita Sareen and other members of the school managing committee and AIWC.

The students displayed colourful drill with the theme ‘Swachh Bharat’ & ‘Will to Work, Will to Win’. The energy and zeal of the students was visible through their brilliant performances in the various events, races, relays as well in the March Past.

The teachers & Sub staff too joined in to take part in the sports events & won several prizes. Vidhi Rawal and Ritisha Das were felicitated for their excellent performance in the CBSE Cluster sports & for winning Gold medals in Athletic & swimming respectively.

Vidhi was awarded the Best Athlete among 1300 boys & girls in the Cluster III CBSE Athletic Championship held in November 2016. Both the students have been selected for the National CBSE meet to be held in December.
