Three held for firing at Chhotu Pundit�s residence at Mango

Jamshedpur: Police here on Wednesday arrested three persons in connection with the incident of firing on the house of late Chhotu Pundit of Mango.

They confiscated a country-made pistol and six bullets of 7.65 mm caliber from their possession.

Those arrested were identified as Sen Rao, Kartik Pramanik and Mohan Lohar.

SP city Prashant Anand said the accused persons were nabbed by a team of city police set up to crack down on the culprits of the firing incident at Mango on the night of 29th June last. An FIR was lodged in this connection on the complaint of Rani Pathak.

During investigation of the firing incident, cops found out that Vikas Tiwary and Tej Pratap Singh, both currently in jail in connection with Chhotu Pundit�s murder, had asked the three arrested persons to open fire at the house of the deceased. Tiwary and his aide wanted to threaten Chhotu

Pundit�s kin in a bid to stop them from giving testimony against them in the court, said the SP.

The SP said one Akash Singh of Daiguttu had given the pistol and cash to Sen Rao for carrying out the firing incident.
