Jamshedpur, July 12: J.H. Tarapore School has completed fifteen years of its journey in 2017. As a part of its Crystal Jubilee celebration an intra-school event, ‘Greenista – The Green Rescue’, was organised on July 12.
The event was inaugurated by the Principal, Vice Principal and Director of the school. All the high school teachers and students joined hands together with the Environment Club to spread environmental awareness.
‘Rang Barse’, an ongoing project of the Young Leaders Club’ has been taken forward by the Environment Club as a part of the campaign. Graffiti was done on the walls of the quadrangle and the drive under the guidance of the SUPW and Environment Club teachers.
SUPW – Socially useful Productive work forms an important part of the ICSE and ISC curriculum. Keeping this in mind, the students of Std. VI to XII were taught to make paper bags.
These paper bags will be used in the school, as well as given to the shopkeepers in the vicinity ; to give the message that polythene bags should not be used.
The main motive behind conducting this campaign was to spread environmental awareness and to create a polythene free zone in and around the school. The project also helped in developing the Kinesthetic and Creative Skills in the stude.
All the teachers and students rose to the occasion and contributed in their own small way, making the event a huge success.
