Jamshedpur, May 11: Chairman of State assembly committee on environment and pollution control, Jogendra Mahto (Bermo MLA) said that if required the pollution level of Jamshedpur can be checked by third party leaving aside the government agency (Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board) and would recommend the government to take action against the companies found violating environment and pollution norms no matter if it�s a big and small industry.
The team focused on disposal of industrial effluents�and biomedical waste plantation of trees felled during road widening work in city.
The three-member state Assembly committee on environment and pollution control comprising� chairman Jogendra Mahto (Bermo MLA), Raghunandan Mandal (Godda MLA) and Ramkumar Pahan(Khijri MLA) held nearly three-hour long meeting with corporate sectors and different government departments at the Circuit House.
Later, the team inspected MGM Hospital, Marine Drive etc. The meeting and site inspection will continue on Tuesday as well.
Jogendra Mahto in the Chairman of the committee while Godda MLA Raghunandan Mandal and Ramkumar Pahan(Khijri MLA) are its members.
The Assembly panel members also expressed concern about illegal sale of liquor and took to task the district excise department officials for not monitoring this aspect.

The panel also sought information from district administration and regional official of Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB) about polluting industrial units especially rice mills, crusher units.
