Thieves rob house in Jamshedpur, decamp with cash and jewelry worth lakhs

Jamshedpur, September 12: Thieves robbed a house in Old Farm Area under Kadma police station on the night of September 8 while the family was out for dinner. Rahul Kumar Singh, a family member of the robbed household, reported that they had left their home, Quarter No. 3 LS, around 8:30 PM and returned by 10:10 PM. Upon arrival, they discovered that the rear window of the house had been broken. Inside, the cupboard and locker were found open, with items and clothes scattered around the room.

Upon scrutiny, the family realized that jewellery worth approximately ₹5 lakhs and ₹1 lakh in cash had been stolen from the cupboard. A formal complaint regarding the theft was lodged in the Kadma police station on Thursday, and investigations were underway to identify the culprits and recover the stolen items.

The incident has raised concerns about the security in the area, prompting residents to remain vigilant. (w/gsd)
