Venezuelan national arrested near White House with firearms

US Secret Service agents arrested a 30-year-old Venezuelan national near the White House shortly before midnight on Thursday.
Officers found three firearms and ammunition inside a stolen pickup truck during a routine patrol on Constitution Avenue.
The suspect allegedly told authorities that voices in his head instructed him to kill President Donald Trump.
An officer spotted a suspicious blue Ford F-150 and asked the driver if he carried any weapons.
The suspect nodded and made a finger-gun gesture before stepping out of the vehicle.
He communicated with investigators using Google Translate while standing outside his truck.
He claimed he took a gun from someone who attempted to kill him earlier.
The driver directed officers toward a brown bag inside the vehicle.
A search of the truck uncovered an AR-15 rifle, two handguns, and matching ammunition.
Authorities identified the suspect as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos, an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela.
Department of Homeland Security records show he entered the United States through Texas in March 2024.
Guanipa Chrinos appeared before the DC Superior Court on Friday following his arrest.
A judge ordered him held in custody without bond, according to online court records.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged an immigration detainer against the suspect.
The incident highlights ongoing security concerns surrounding the White House and the President.
Federal authorities continue to maintain heightened security arrangements around the official premises.
This event follows another major threat reported by law enforcement earlier this year.
Authorities previously charged Cole Tomas Allen with attempting to assassinate President Trump at a high-profile dinner.
Officials stated quick law enforcement action prevented a massive attack during that April incident.
