Manoharpur: A 16-year-old girl from Kashipur village in Manoharpur block was bitten by a venomous snake on Sunday evening. The victim, identified as Anjali Tiro, is currently undergoing treatment at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Manoharpur.
According to family members, Anjali had gone to fetch water. As she returned home and stepped inside, a venomous snake reportedly bit her on the right leg.
Following the incident, her family rushed her to the Community Health Centre without delay, where doctors admitted her for treatment. Her condition is being monitored by medical staff.
Meanwhile, Medical Officer-in-Charge Dr. Anil Kumar appealed to residents not to rely on traditional healing practices or superstitions in cases of snakebite and to seek immediate medical attention.
He also advised people to avoid sleeping on the floor during the summer season and to use mosquito nets while sleeping to protect themselves from snakes and other poisonous creatures.
