Jamshedpur, Aug. 29 : A teenage girl while having a fun ride with her boyfriend was abducted by a gang of five criminals on Dobo-Kanderbera Road under Kapalithana out-post (TOP) under Chandil police station area near Jamshedpur under Seraikela-Kharsawan district late on Wednesday night.The victim in question is a resident of Jugsalai.

The criminals first attacked the victim’s boyfriend away having assaulted him and later moved away along the abducted girl who is 17 years of age.

The criminals, with their number increased to 12, had tried to take the girl at a secluded place for  gangrape, but the victim’s boyfriend, Harshdeep Singh had informed the police, leading cops from both Seraikela and Jamshedpur to swing into action for searching the girl. The criminals dropped the victim near Tatanagar station around midnight. Harshdeep Singh, a resident of Golpahari in Parsudih.

The victim has been admitted at the MGM Medical College Hospital for the injuries she received in the assaulted inflicted by the criminals.

Seraikela-Kharsawan SP, Karthik S said that they are taking the statement from the victim and then only a case will be registered with the Kapali TOP.

“We are investigating the incident. The victim girl is currently undergoing treatment.  We are taking statement from her so that we may register a case in connection to the incident.  We are trying to identify the criminals involved in the act, but after the girl, who is still in shock, gives her statement, we will be able to go ahead with the investigation,” said Karthik.

Harshdeep (23) who studies BBA at Chandigarh had come home on vacation and had taken his girl-friend along for a ride.

According to Harshdeep, after they reached Domuhanibridge by his car, they had spent some time over the bridge.

“After spending sometime there we head towardsKanderbera on the Dobo-Kanderbera Road which connects the Domuhanibridge.  As we were about to reach Kanderbera, five armed youth stopped us. They assaulted me and the girl.  Later they forced me to go away from the spot and had disappeared having taken the girl along,” said the youth.  He said called his friends in the city who informed the police.

Police officials from five police stations, including Azadnagar, Mango, Bistupur and Jugsalai were searching for the abducted the girl along the unlit Dobo-Kandera road and also in the adjoining residential area as well as in the bushes.Latter, the criminals dropped the victim near Tatanagar station around midnight.
