Jamshedpur, May 9: The 14th death anniversary of SK Benjamin, former President of Tata Workers’ Union (TWU) was observed on May 9. Union leaders led by TWU President Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary paid floral tribute to portrait of SK Benjamin.
President Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, General Secretary Satish Kumar Singh and Deputy President Shailesh Kumar Singh addressed the gathering and highlighted the life and contribution of late Benjamin to the Union and workers of Tata Steel.
They said, “SK Benjamin, apart from being the union president, was a mild mannered man but with steely resolve who fought for the right of workers and remains a burning example of fortitude. He served the union dedicatedly for 50 years.”
Earlier Dr MS Singh ‘Manas’, a union employee and Jaideo Upadhyay, Director, MJC gave a detailed version of late Benjamin’s life.
Also present were Shatrughna Kumar Roy, Vice President, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Vice President, Nitesh Raj, Asst. Secretary, Hari Shankar Singh, Treasurer & Accountant and executive committee members and union employees also paid tribute to former TWU President.
