Tata Workers Union and management must work together for achieving zero accident at workplace: Tata Sons chairman Chandrasekaran

Jamshedpur, March 3: Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran held an important meeting with the officials of Tata Workers Union, emphasizing the need for collaboration between management and the union to enhance road safety and workplace productivity. During his visit to the union office, he paid tribute to former Tata Workers Union President Late VG Gopal by garlanding his statue.

Chandrasekaran was accompanied by Tata Steel MD & CEO TV Narendran, Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer Kaushik Chatterjee, VP HRM Atrayee S Sanyal, VP CS Chanakya Chaudhary, and other senior officials.

Tata Workers Union President Sanjeev Choudhary welcomed him, and the discussions covered several key issues related to employee welfare and workplace improvements.

Addressing the officials, Chandrasekaran stressed the mission of achieving “zero accidents,” urging both management and the union to prioritize safety measures. “It is painful for me when an accident occurs or someone loses their life. We must work together to prevent such incidents,” he stated.

He also highlighted the importance of enhancing employee productivity to tackle new challenges effectively. Emphasizing skill development, he advised the management to focus on employee capacity-building and continuous learning. Additionally, he recommended training employees in artificial intelligence (AI) to boost Tata Steel’s technological advancements.

Discussing urban development, Tata Workers Union Assistant Secretary Nitesh Raj raised the need for Jamshedpur to be developed as a model city for road safety. In response, Chandrasekaran urged the union and management to work together in making this vision a reality.

During his visit, Chandrasekaran personally interacted with all union officials, fostering a spirit of collaboration and mutual commitment to Tata Steel’s growth and safety initiatives.
